Twitter is a social media network. It has a strong education base. Many educators use twitter to network and create their professional learning network, PLN. The main way this occurs is through educational twitter chats. In these chats, educators discuss various educational ideas or topics. For example, some chats discuss motivation, content, or pedagogy. Once an educator has a PLN built, they can ask questions and have the input of other professionals. My PLN consists of many educators for all levels as well as principals, superintendents, and learning coaches. I plan to utilize my PLN to learn more about pedagogy from educators with experience as well as to gain insight or opinions. By helping other educators in the same way, I am able to create a positive digital presence. During my semester, I participated in many twitter chats where I was able to share ideas with other educators and learn from them in return. In the future, I hope to continue to participate in twitter chats to increase my learning and grow my PLN. I hope to regularly participate in a math educator twitter chat to help build my PLN in my subject area. I continue to check my twitter to see if I can answer questions for my PLN and plan to tweet questions to my PLN when I need professional advice.
