Artifact Description:
Animoto is a tool that makes videos using pictures, videos, and text slides. It compiles these items and shows them in a visually appealing way with music as the background. To create this video, I expanded upon my teaching metaphor that the teacher is a river and the student is a kayaker. Then I found pictures to emphasize my points and used text to explain on different slides. I finished by picking a song that would complement my video. This video expands upon my teaching metaphor and how it explains my views of different parts of teaching, like motivation, relationships, and so on. This fits into the Danielson Framework in component 4A because it reflects on my view of teaching and I can use it to see how my views apply to a situation that is happening in class.
Artifact Reflection:
Creating this video was very simple. It is slightly difficult to write a complete thought because there can only be a certain amount of characters per slide, so sentences are broken up. If I were to use Animoto again, I would like to use it for an anticipatory set to demonstrate real life applications of mathematics that relates to the topic of the day. This relates to my learning in educational psychology because the metaphor and views were created from my learning in educational psychology.
