Component 2D: Managing Student Behavior
What is it?
Component 2D focuses on setting high expectations for students regarding behavior, monitoring this behavior, and dealing with situations when students do not meet these standards.
Why is it important?
Managing classroom behavior is important because it helps the classroom to run smoothly in order to facilitate the best learning environment. It also helps students to feel valued and respected as well as helps them understand the expectations the teacher is setting forward for them.

Teachers must translate to students the expectations that they will be held to and the students must understand them. |

Teachers must always know what is going on in the classroom and must observe any misbehavior without disrupting class time. |

Teachers must effectively and respectfully address student misbehavior. |
