What is it?
Component 4D is about building a community between professional educators and participating within the community in order to learn from other educators, collaborate, and stay connected.
Why is it important?
A professional community is important because educators should live as a life long learner, as well as help collaborate and build a network in local and global learning communities.

Elements
1 - Relationships with Colleagues
Educators must support each other and cooperate as well as collaborate on programs, lessons, or plans. |
2 - Involvement in a Culture of Professional Inquiry
Teachers sometimes need to lead organizations in schools. They also must participate in professional inquiry, like journals or conferences. |
3 - Service to the School
Teachers may volunteer in the school community and demonstrate being a leader. |
4 - Participation in School and District Projects
Teachers should participate in school projects, maybe even have a leadership role. |
