What is it?
Teachers must show professionalism for the field of teaching. They must demonstrate ethical conduct, following the school rules, and they must advocate for students.

Component 4F is important because it refers to how teachers conduct themselves in the community and through service. Also, the different aspects of professionalism have an effect on learning.

Elements
1 - Integrity and Ethical Conduct
Educators must hold themselves to high standards regarding honesty, integrity, and trust with their students and colleagues. They must understand confidentiality and be cautious of what they say. |
2 - Service to Students
Educators must be available to help students and know all the resources necessary to help learners. |
3 - Advocacy
Educators must be a voice for the students and honor all students. |
4 - Decision Making
Educators should make decisions that are based on professional standards and become leaders to demonstrate this decision making. |
5 - Compliance with School and District Regulations
Educators must model and follow the school and district rules. |
